As reported by the New York Times, The Mets was reported hiring a CRG Partners specialist in governing their finances and hopefully turning their company around before it is too late. Based on financial reports, during the 2010 bankruptcy of the Texas Rangers the team was sold in a bankruptcy court auciton to a group led by Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg. According to the wesite, CRG Partners offered financial advisory and restrucrring of the comapny. The Mets was reportedly seeking CRG for help.
As of now the Mets are in a lot of financial pressure. They owe over $4000 million to a group of banks and lost $70 million last season. They are facing a prospect of another failing year. They are currently reducing ticket prices for their games at Citit Field hoping to raise $200 million to pay off their debt and to restart their financila losses.
